A world-class company that provides specialist enzyme products to many of the world’s top food, chemical and pharmaceutical companies, has an immediate requirement for a Business Development Manager to join them.

Location: Home based – role will involve extensive travel with UK and Europe.

Salary: Open to negation but salary circa £50,000 + bonus circa £10k+ and benefits

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for strategically developing new opportunities in the life science and pharmaceutical markets to deliver profitable sales growth.

You will approach customers to identify customer needs, nurture and develop strong relationships with key decision makers to communicate our service offering. Having knowledge of enzymes and a commercial awareness of the diagnostics market would be desirable.

This role is both technical and commercial, so a science degree is essential along with experience of setting up meetings with prospects and travelling to visit target customers in USA and Europe. You will work closely with our talented Marketing team to bring together market and industry intelligence to identify and approach new customers and markets.

Experience of business development, technical and consultative selling into the life science markets is critical to success in this role.

You will be a fast learner, confident, highly driven for success along with the ability to think laterally to navigate multi-faceted technical solutions. You will need innate commercial acumen to ensure profitability and growth along with the flexibility to spend around 30% of your time travelling.

Purpose of the role:

Strategically identify and develop new opportunities within the life science sector to deliver sales growth

Key Results areas:

* Target number and value of new opportunities within the diagnostic and pharmaceutical sector
* Number of new products advanced to proof of concept in diagnostic and pharmaceutical sector
* Sales growth in life science sector

Need to know:

* Technical/science degree – biology, biochemistry or similar
* International sales and business development into new markets
* Product management of technical products
* Knowledge of enzymes
* Life Science industry - diagnostics
