I have an immediate requirement for an experienced technical “hands-on” IT manager to join a well

established software house in the Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Salary: Circa £50,000 - £55,000

This is a very technical role and we are looking for an experience IT Manager who is not afraid to get stuck in. As IT Manager your main role will be to support all the inhouse systems and users, this will include:

* Administration of the Windows 2003/2008/2012/SQL Server estate including physical equipment, local Hyper-V virtual machines and Amazon/Azure-based cloud platforms
* Planning for and implementation of the security platform, including the administration of the CheckPoint corporate firewall, the Sophos Advanced endpoint solution and Sophos Email Gateway security
* Support and configuration of both Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure services, including compute/VM, database, user accounts and firewall policies for standard Windows service access as well as custom platform requirements
* Provision and administration of remote working facilities, including VPN and remote desktop access rights
* Ownership of the corporate Disaster Recovery plan, including management of the multi-layered backup and replication solutions (via Backup Exec, NAS replication, physical media and automated off-site, cloud-based storage)
* Production of automated procedures to enhance reliability and adherence to policies via scripting and Group Policy / Active Directory
* Complete management of network infrastructure, from structured cabling through to switch configuration
* Management of Avaya IP phone system
* Administration of corporate Microsoft 365 system, local and cloud-based FTP and IIS webservers
* Licence management for all products including Microsoft Partner and Open licensing as well as CAD-based central/node-locked licensing from various platforms
* Identification and implementation of current and future system requirements
* Overseeing relationships with hardware suppliers, software vendors and service provision companies
* Ensuring US and UK legal compliance and security for data
* Production and revision of process and system-related documentation
* Continuous dialogue with CTO, MD and other staff as appropriate relating to IT plans and issues
