Field Based Network Support Engineer - Oxford - £35,000

A successful, high profile company in the Outsourced IT Support sector are now inviting applications for the position of Field Based Network Support Engineer to be based out of offices in Oxford.

The position involves being the ‘IT manager’ for a portfolio of client companies - giving them strategy and advice and dealing with 2nd & 3rd-line issues to resolution. Working for a number of clients at this level gives a wide exposure to a huge range of issues.

You will have at least 2 years demonstrable expertise working with all Microsoft operating systems and of working in a customer-facing role, preferably with SME and blue-chip clients. Customer relationships are key so you will have an excellent telephone and personal manner, and be comfortable working with client staff from all roles from Directors downwards.

You MUST have a degree from a reputable university, a current MCSE certification and be confident in installing and maintaining: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Small Business Server 2000/2003, Microsoft Exchange Server 2000/2003, Active Directory. You must be happy to work on client sites 3-4 days per week and have your own car and be prepared to use it for transporting yourself and kit to client sites.

A staff contract, salary is £25-32K depending on experience.

The role will suit individuals currently working as a Field Engineer, External Network Engineer, Network Consultant, 2nd Line Support, 3rd Line Support, Network Support, IT Manager, ICT Consultant and living within a commutable distance of Oxford, Oxfordshire, Abingdon, Newbury, Banbury, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire or willing to relocate.
