Project Manager, Dartford, Kent

A leading audio-visual company with a worldwide presence, specialising in the AV needs of Corporate Communications, Command and Control Rooms, Museums, Retail Display, Theme Parks and Exhibitions has an immediate requirement for Project Manager with an AV background to join them at their headquarters in Dartford, Kent.

As manager of the Corporate project team your main responsibility will be directing the Project Managers and Engineers to ensure that projects are completed to the satisfaction of the client. Your team design and commission audio visual systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• To work with teams of people, both in house and externally, to deliver successful projects. This particularly includes the sales teams providing the technical support necessary to ensure that the quality of the incoming orders is both achievable technically and within the budget.
• Manage some specific projects including systems design of electronics, mechanics’ and optics. This maybe using proven technology and also looking for new and interesting solutions to problems which can give us commercial advantage.
• Provide technical and costing assistance to sales at the pre-order stage. Also work with the Operations Planner and Controller to allocate project Managers to forthcoming work.
• Represent the company at a senior level with the necessary level of professional conduct and presentation.
• Work with the Project Managers in the team and the Operations Planner and Controller to ensure that we have a managed and clear plan of our workload.
• Line management responsibility for the engineering staff in the corporate team.
• Perform design work on multiple projects within the budgeted cost and to the satisfaction of the client.
• To be able to design systems in terms of their electronics, mechanics’ and optics to meet the needs of our clients, using proven technology and also looking for new and interesting solutions to problems.
• Physically setup elements of systems to prove the concept.
• Liaise with suppliers to research product information and purchase the necessary components for a system ensuring that we are getting the best value for money.
• Deal with all aspects interfacing of audio visual systems into our client’s buildings. This will encompass both hardware and software interfaces.
• Perform on-site commissioning and configuration programming of our systems.
• Represent the company at a senior level with the necessary level of professional conduct and presentation
• To develop your knowledge from both experience and research to become an “expert” in one or more particular areas of our project work to whom others in the organisation can refer.

The role will suit individuals currently working as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager with experience of the Audio Visual industry and living within a commutable distance of Dartford, Kent, East London or willing to relocate.
