A leading construction company specialising in the education, health, leisure and retail sector have an immediate requirement for a Site Manager to join them.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 depending upon experience.

As site manager you will be working on new build and refurbishment projects in a typical project value range from £0.5m - £15m in all major sectors including commercial, educational, industrial and leisure. We are looking for a Site Manager who can work away from home anywhere in the country when required to do so, and someone who can manage projects as the resident on site No 1 Site Manager.

Key Attributes for the Role

* Experienced in the management of projects across varied sectors and of differing types of construction and with a value range of between £1m and £10m.
* Experience in the construction of timber frame hotels and public houses would be a real benefit.
* Be able to manage efficiently, effectively and safely the day to day running of a construction project with the support of a visiting Contracts Manager on a weekly basis.
* Be able to work as a key member of a project delivery team.
* Be familiar and well experienced in the management of Health & Safety on site.
* Be able to plan events on site and prepare short term programmes and communicate these effectively to the workforce and management teams.
* Be able to monitor progress on site and review and instigate corrective action plans when necessary.
* Be able to manage the project on site with a cost effective approach and in accordance with the strategy set at tender stage.
* Somebody who has SMSTS or similar Health & Safety certification.
* 1st Aid trained.

You will be able to:

* Display a pro-active and non-adversarial approach.
* Can deliver projects in quick time and has the ability to drive programmes to achieve or better programme objectives.
* Is assertive, firm but fair.
* Is a good communicator and able to adapt styles of management to suit a range of situations on site.
* Is able to drive a project with a sense of determination and pride in achieving a satisfactory outcome.
* Ideally someone who has come from a trade background which by default enhances their technical knowledge.
* Is reliable.
* Has a proven track record.
* Is keen to establish a long career with a reputable and forward thinking organisation.
