Senior Structural Engineers, Aberdeen

Salary: £38,000 - £65000.

A market leader in the oil and gas sector have an immediate requirement for a Senior Structural Engineer. They provide a wide range of services to the offshore industry world-wide involving both design verification and independent analysis activities in various disciplines, including those of naval architecture, structural, pipelines, mooring, foundations, safety and mechanical engineering.

As Senior Structural Engineer you will be expected to carry out:

• Design reviews to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Independent analysis of structures
• Maintain good communications with clients and designers
• Prepare bids in response to tenders.

As Senior Structural Engineer you will be a Chartered Engineer (either MICE or MIStructE) holding a good degree in structural or civil engineering and have substantial experience covering jacket design, fabrication and analysis.

Prior direct experience of design appraisal and a higher level of relevant academic qualification would be an advantage. Specifically, you will need to have acquired an in-depth understanding of design codes (API-RP2A WSD and LRFD) and their development; project management and coordination capabilities; be familiar with fabrication specifications and have experience in jacket analysis linear and non-linear software (SACS and USFOS preferred).

You will also need good communication skills, including technical report writing; the ability to work to tight deadlines and adaptability. There may also be a requirement to work in client or designers’ offices for temporary periods
