Senior Development Engineer
A leading audio-visual company with a worldwide presence, specialising in the AV needs of Corporate Communications, Command and Control Rooms, Museums, Retail Display, Theme Parks and Exhibitions has an immediate requirement for a Senior Development Engineer with FPGA design using VHDL design language to join them at their headquarters in Dartford, Kent.
Main function:
• Developing complex electronic designs in schematic form and complex FPGA designs using VHDL design language.
• To commission, debug and complete these designs to a production status.
• To adapt and modify existing schematic and FPGA designs and IP to produce new products variants.
Experience
FPGA, VHDL, Altera, Xilinx, Mentor Modelsim, High Speed Digital Design.
Primary Responsibilities and duties
• To design and implement FPGA system functions using VHDL. To simulate and model their behaviour to a sufficient degree prior to implementation in hardware, to ensure rapid commissioning.
• To design complex, high speed electronic circuits using CAE design tools, including FPGAs and other components.
• To commission, test and verify correct operation of designs.
• To contribute to and promote the successful completion of projects in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
• To ensure new products are designed for manufacture and test in a production environment.
• To transition new products into production, ensuring all relevant data and documentation is available and approved.
Skills
• In depth knowledge of VHDL and FPGA technology, including at least 2 years serious VHDL.
• Thorough knowledge of complex electronic circuits, including high speed digital design, at least 5 years experience.
• Familiarity with analogue, digital and mixed signal design
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with standard PC productivity tools.
• Familiarity with embedded firmware design in “C” and Assembler.
Location: Dartford, Kent
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + benefits
