A leading manufacturer and supplier of leading-edge high-speed and extended-temperature rugged access solutions has a requirement for a Freescale hardware developer to develop an extended temperature IP router. This is a 9-12 month contract based in High Wycombe, Bucks.
Required skilled set:
Design and development of Industrial Communications equipment.
Typically fan less router with operating temperature -40c to +85c
Freescale CPU experience (MPC 8413E)
FLASH storage
Ethernet ports
Expansion Architecture PCIe with Bridge to PCI slots
Compact PCI
Mini PCI – for off the shelf Mini PCI format cards
I2C bus – (two wire inter device communications port)
GPIO Bus – (relay and General Input / Output Port)
TDM Bus
Serial ports – with Async modem emulation, SCADA and transparent transport, plus terminal Server
Option for Hardware Encryption

The product will be required to pass through a number of strict approvals and we expect the hardware engineer to be capable of developing a product capable of meeting these standards.

Ingress Protection – BS-EN 60529 (IP6X Dust, IPX2, IPX3 or IPX4 Water)
Testing in accordance with PR6 1373 draft, Random vibration – BS-EN 60068-2-64, Shock – BS-EN 60068-2-27 Test EA, CE Marking, Safety – BS EN 60950-1:2006, EMC / EMI
Emissions / Susceptibility – BS EN 55024: 1998 and EN 55024 ESD Immunity - EN 6100-4-2:1995 Power and Signal Line Transient / Burst Voltage – EN 6100-4-4-:1995, Conducted Susceptibility, Surge Immunity – EN 6100-4-4:1995 Radiated Susceptibility – EN 6100-4-3:1996, Harmonics EN 6100-3-2:2006, Flicker BS EN 6100-3-3:1995.
