Software and Controls Engineer - Hampshire
A successful, high profile company in the manufacturing special purpose machines and capital equipment sector is now seeking to recruit a Software & Controls Engineer to be based in Hampshire.
Salary is dependent on experience but is likely to fall in the range £25,000 to £40,000.
The systems manufactured are electronic, electrical and mechanical and your role will be to develop control systems and PLC software for both current and future equipments and your responsibilities will include conceptual design, detail design, technical documentation, design calculations and feasibility studies. You will be working in a progressive team of multi-disciplined engineers within the overall engineering department. Although a software and controls design position knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems would be very useful. At times there will be a requirement to work with other teams and there will some possibility of foreign travel. The position is office based at Basingstoke, Hants.
We are seeking a person who is technically motivated with a broad engineering knowledge. You will have experience in a manufacturing industry designing special purpose PLC control systems for machines or capital equipment. You will be well organized and able to communicate effectively with customers, senior management, both internal and external.
Qualifications/Experience
Previous use of Aceri Electrical Designer for circuit design is essential.
HND or Degree level in control/electrical/electronic or related engineering subjects.
In depth PLC programming experience is essential: Siemens S7, Allan Bradley & Mitsubishi.
Knowledge of SCADA and HMI and motor drive programming would be an advantage.
Manufacturing industry experience is essential.
A good level of practical ability is desirable.
Good general PC skills including all MS Office packages desirable.
A general knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering would be useful.
The role will suit individuals currently working as Software & Controls Engineer and living within a commutable distance of Hampshire, Berkshire, Southampton, Basingstoke, Winchester, Fleet, Surrey or willing to relocate.
