Product Development Manager, Swindon
A leading designer and manufacture of Digital Display Systems (Digital Signage and Low Power Displays) has an immediate requirement for a Product Development Manager to join them at their offices in Swindon.
As Product Development Manager you will be responsible for managing a small team (5) of engineering professionals, for the effective and timely realisation of display hardware / software products / projects. This is a hands-on role and you will previous experience of running a small team and be prepared to get fully “stuck-in”. This is not a desk job.
The role will include, but is not limited to:
• Ensuring accurate project plans, product designs and forecasts are produced.
• Managing the results of the small development team.
• Ensuring timely project and product delivery in accordance with customer requirements (specifications and timescales).
• Creating an effective relationship with other functions (proactively improving common processes, implementing best practice and minimising inter-functional/departmental barriers).
• Aligning the department structure to the required results, in terms of resource allocation, targets, motivation, performance, recruitment, budget and cost.
• Providing clear and concise monthly reports of useful management information to demonstrate progress against the above.
Essentials
• Technical Degree qualified (ideally Electronics).
• Project management experience (targets, resources, costs)
• Experience of both hardware and software projects.
• Ideal display industry experience (LCD)
• People supervision experience (performance, budgets, recruitment)
• Capability to understand relevant technical concepts (e.g. electronics /software principles)
• Customer awareness and interaction
• Impeccable personal and professional standards
• Ability to be a team leader and team player
• Well organised, motivated, passionate and energetic
• Open to a moderate amount of travel (nationally and internationally)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + benefits
