Mechanical Design Engineer - Hampshire
A successful, high profile company in the manufacturing special purpose machines and capital equipment sector is now seeking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to be based in Hampshire. Salary is dependent on experience but is likely to fall in the range £25,000 to £40,000.
Your role will be to develop both current and future equipments and your responsibilities will include conceptual design, detail design, technical documentation, design calculations and feasibility studies. You will be working in a progressive team of multi-disciplined engineers within the overall engineering department. Although a mechanical position, a knowledge of electrical and PLC systems would be very useful. At times there will be a requirement to work with other teams and there will some possibility of foreign travel. The position is office based at Basingstoke, Hants.
We are seeking a person who is technically motivated with a broad mechanical engineering knowledge. You will have at least 5 years experience in Manufacturing industry designing special purpose machines or capital equipment. You will be well organized and able to communicate effectively with customers, senior management, both internal and external.
Qualifications/Experience
Good Mechanical CAD skills – Use of AutoCad and SolidWorks is essential.
HND or Degree level in mechanical or related engineering subjects.
Manufacturing industry experience is essential.
A good level of practical ability is desirable.
Good general PC skills including all MS Office packages desirable.
A knowledge of physics and/or metallurgical properties would be useful.
The role will suit individuals currently working as Mechanical Design Engineer and living within a commutable distance of Hampshire, Berkshire, Southampton, Basingstoke, Winchester, Fleet, Surrey or willing to relocate.
